Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the broad principle of volunteering with the 3rd party initiatives featured on the Help From Home website.
Help From Home is a web based portal that features microvolunteer actions from 3rd party initiatives. It is not associated with, not connected with nor does it endorse or recommend any particular organisation, person or cause listed on its website. Its intention is to simply inform in a general way about the existence of actions that have a potential to benefit others.
Microvolunteering can be described as those actions that benefit a worthy cause, where the main bulk of the task can be completed on demand in one or more sessions of up to 30 minutes, either from a person’s home or on the go.
The range of actions are extremely varied, where the vast proportion of the action (if not all of it) can be conducted from a person’s home or garden. Most of the actions can be performed online, whilst some can be performed away from the computer. The actions generally tend to involve raising money for good causes for free, research participation, advocating causes of concern, writing letters or craftwork etc., etc.
To promote and encourage participation in microvolunteering activities that benefit worthy causes. Microvolunteering is not really on people radars at the moment and it is Help From Home’s aim to bring this concept to a wider audience.
A wide range of regularly updated volunteer opportunities that can be specifically conducted from a person’s home, workplace, residential care home or an educational establishment.
Inclusion of volunteer opportunities where you decide when you want to volunteer and how much time you would like to give.
With two exceptions we do not knowingly exclude any volunteer opportunities that fit the microvolunteer profile. The two exceptions being volunteering opportunities that promote or proselytize religion or military involvement. For example religion based initiatives that help needy people for the sake of helping needy people are included, whilst those that provide funds to distribute religious books are not.

By extension, Help From Home cannot control the environment in which a volunteer action is conducted.
Therefore, if a volunteer intends to proceed with participating in an action, it is his/her responsibility to either consult the Health and Safety policy of the 3rd party initiative that is running the opportunity or conversely conduct a risk assessment under their own initiative of the environment in which they intend to perform the action.
Help From Home will not be held liable for any consequences resulting from such participation. We are an information site only where information from a 3rd party initiative is taken in good faith. Any grievance concerning this information will need to be pursued with the 3rd party initiative.
