Aurorasaurus – Monitoring the Northern Lights

Aurorasaurus is a citizen science project that gathers real time data about aurora sightings and sends out notification to users when the Northern Lights are likely to be visible in their area. Aurorasaurus is intended to significantly improve the forecasting of the aurora using citizen science reports and crowd sourced observations.
As a microvolunteer, you can contribute to the project in one two ways:
- by Tweeting about your observations and location of aurora. No special hashtag is needed, as Aurorasaurus will pick up references to auroras from Twitter feeds
- by filing a report on their webpage or their Aurorasaurus mobile app. The type of question you will be asked will be your location, time, colour, type and an estimation of high it was
Available on the iPhone or Android smartphone networks.
