Group B Strep Support (GBSS) is a UK charity, whose three main aims are to:
- Offer information and support to families affected by group B Streptococcus;
- Inform health professionals and individuals how most group B Strep infections in newborn babies can be prevented; and
- Generate continued support for research into preventing group B Strep infections in newborn babies.
They have an ongoing campaign to raise awareness of the preventative measures that have been used successfully against Group B Strep. These actions include contacting UK local health professionals, local maternity units and parliamentary representatives to discover what information they have on Group B Strep, and where applicable providing them with information available on the GBSS website.
