Members are asked to watch video feeds or look at pictures to identify damage caused by a natural disaster from anywhere in the world. MicroMappers is only activated when natural disaster strikes, so you will be asked for help a few times a year. It has previously been used to support response for Cyclone Pam in Vanatu and Typhoon Ruby in the Philippines, amongst others.
On activation you will be given instructions on what is required. By having lots of people watching live UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) feeds, the affected areas can be identified and emergency response activated in the areas of need.
