Science Gossip is the simple way to directly help historians to categorize old scientific documents to discover if there were illustrations in them. This project doesn’t demand much time, however it enables you to look further at the document should it interest you.
The project is not limiting to people with scientific knowledge, allowing anyone to help them order documents which could prove to be vital for research into the past, or even new developments.
The way that it works is that you are asked questions about a random scanned image of a document. If the image does not contain an illustration, you move onto the next one. If it does contain an illustration, further questions will be asked about it, which rely on observations of the image rather than knowledge about the topic of the image itself.
