UK based Children’s Society is running a campaign to get the UK law changed so that greater protection is afforded to 16 and 17 year olds who have been sexually exploited. As the law stands, police cannot step in and protect older teenagers at risk the same way they can younger children. They often fail to get the urgent support they need to recover because of their awkward age.
With just 30 seconds of your time, you can turn up the volume on these issues and put pressure on the UK Government as the Policing and Crime Bill is considered that could make history by putting changes needed to protect 16 and 17 year olds from child sexual exploitation into law.
Take action now – ask the UK Government to strengthen the law to protect vulnerable older teenagers experiencing horrific sexual crimes.
